Ethan Studenic shocked his girlfriend Morgan Whittaker, when he asked for his future wife’s hand in marriage under the sea when scuba diving, using an engagement ring hidden in a shell. He popped the question 30-feet underwater.

“Five years ago, I had the idea of an underwater proposal. I thought it would be cool, really unique and interesting,” Studenic, 30, said. “I decided to propose on the first reef we dove together.”

“I wanted it to be a romantic proposal and I’m not the greatest at that kind of thing,” Studenic said. “I thought if I could go back to Bonaire, I could recapture that magic of our first vacation away together.”

“Once Morgan got a little closer, I opened the shell up,” he said, revealing the words “Will you marry me?” Happily, she said yes and the two shared their happiest moment, before swimming up to the surface together.
